When I say elections, how does it make you feel? I am talking more in terms of campaigning.
Unless you are politician or politician’s son/daughter, you would describe the feeling as repulsive, indifferent and waste of time. If we plot these feelings, I am sure the bar would reach the height of the highest building in this world.
Anyways, for me, these are the feelings or words that come to my mind in terms of elections campaigning:
1) Tonguefu: When tongues fight, it’s called tonguefu. And during elections tonguefu reaches the fiercest level. And the poor tongue gets tired but politicians are not. The tongue is used for character assasination, blame game and ridicule. During
campaigning and even after that, Goddess Saraswati refuses to own any of these tongues. And this tonguefu happens in a mass way. If tongue could have its way, it would detach itself and go for a pilgrimage.
2) Comatose cerebrum: Cerebrum is part of the brain that is responsible for analysis and reasoning. During elections campaigning, poor cerebrum is not allowed to have its say ( because politicians think they are smarter than cerebrum). Only amygdala (part of the brain associated with primitive emotions) rule.Politicians come up with emotions stirring promises, but in case you stop them and ask them ” Hey, Mr, how would you do it? you would be kidnapped and sent to a land called ” God knows where”.
That’s how I feel. Even media is of no help. They already call elections as ” battlefield or war” and treat it like one. And what we see or read or hear is noise without any meaning.
And now I must go for tea. Because my brain is revolting against all this.
